A total of 50 students from D. Pharm and B. Pharm programs actively participated in the educational visit.


Objective

The visit to the STPI–MedTech Centre of Entrepreneurship (SGPGIMS, Lucknow) was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the rapidly evolving field of medical technology and entrepreneurship in the MedTech sector. The key objectives of the visit were:

  • To bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application
  • To introduce students to MedTech startups and innovations
  • To create awareness about entrepreneurship opportunities in the healthcare sector
  • To understand regulatory, research, and product development aspects in MedTech

Visit Details

The educational visit was successfully organized for students of the Maharishi School of Pharmaceutical Sciences with the aim of enhancing their understanding of healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the visit, experts from the STPI–MedTech incubation centre delivered insightful presentations on medical technology entrepreneurship. Students were introduced to key concepts such as startup incubation, product development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategies in healthcare innovation.

A major highlight of the visit was the practical demonstration of advanced instruments and technologies, including:

  • Robotic Operation Theatre
  • Digital Twins
  • Neuroendoscopy systems

This hands-on exposure enabled students to understand the integration of advanced technology in healthcare and strengthened their ability to correlate academic learning with real-world industrial practices.

Additionally, students were given a guided tour of the facility, where they observed:

  • Advanced infrastructure for medical device prototyping
  • Incubation labs supporting healthcare startups
  • Ongoing real-time projects and innovations in the MedTech domain
