Maharishi University of Information Technology (MUIT), Lucknow, in association with the MUIT Incubation & Innovation Foundation (MIIF) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized an insightful workshop titled “Ready, Set, Protect! – IPR & IP Management for Start-ups” on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Day 2026, held on 27th April 2026 at the Auditorium, MUIT Lucknow Campus.

The workshop was conducted with the objective of spreading awareness about the importance of Intellectual Property Rights among students, innovators, and aspiring entrepreneurs, and to emphasize the need to protect innovative ideas in today’s competitive startup ecosystem.

The session featured Ms. Muskan Rastogi, Registered Patent Agent (IN/PA - 6157), Founder & CEO of Xureka IP LLP, SIPP Facilitator, and US Patent Paralegal, as the keynote speaker. She delivered an engaging and informative session highlighting the role of IPR in safeguarding innovations and enabling startups to build a strong foundation.

The program commenced with the felicitation of the guest speaker by Dean Academics, Dr. Neeraj Jain (MUIT, Lucknow Campus), honoring her presence and valuable contribution to the event.

During the workshop, the speaker elaborated on various aspects of IPR, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. She also discussed IP strategies, the patent filing process, and common legal pitfalls that startups should avoid. Real-world examples and practical insights made the session highly interactive and beneficial for participants.

The workshop witnessed active participation of more than 150 students from various departments of MUIT, who showed great enthusiasm towards entrepreneurship and innovation. The interactive Q&A session further enriched the learning experience, allowing participants to clarify their queries and gain deeper insights into IP management.
