It also focused on encouraging networking and knowledge sharing to strengthen the startup ecosystem and promote an entrepreneurial and innovation-driven culture, while identifying promising ideas for incubation and further institutional support.
Proceedings of the program:
The Startup Investor Mentor (SIM) Meetup began with a welcome address and an introduction to MIIT, highlighting the institute’s commitment towards fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and incubation-driven initiatives.
This was followed by an opening note outlining the purpose and objectives of the meetup, emphasizing the importance of mentorship, investor engagement, and industry interaction for startups at various stages of development.
An interactive activity was conducted at the beginning of the event to encourage mutual interaction among participants. This activity helped break the ice, enabled participants to introduce themselves, and facilitated open communication, thereby creating a collaborative and engaging environment among startups, investors, mentors, and other participants.
After the tea break, industry and founder keynote sessions were conducted involving startups, investors, and mentors. The discussions focused on how real businesses are built, challenges faced during scaling, and practical market realities. Various funding options such as bootstrapping, grants, angel investment, venture capital, and loans were also discussed. The sessions further highlighted factors that make startups fundable, along with the importance of traction, sales, and unit economics in building sustainable ventures.
The networking lunch session provided an informal platform for participants to interact, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities for collaboration.
The event also included a startup pitching session where participating startups presented their business ideas and models. The pitches received valuable feedback and guidance from mentors and investors, enabling startups to gain clarity on investor expectations and areas of improvement.
The meetup concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support and participation of all stakeholders, followed by the formal closing of the event.
